Admin Policies

Purpose

The Admin Policies form only displays when you log into the System Administration Tool using the ROOT policy account. All forms that MiVoice Business supports regardless of type and licenses purchased are displayed.

This form allows you to add, modify, and delete policies that control access to the forms in the System Administration Tool. Access is defined by the permissions assigned to the forms: Read, Read/Write, or No Access.

The top portion of the form lists the currently-defined policies, beginning with the three default policies, REMOTE, ROOT, NO ACCESS, and SYSTEM. You cannot change, delete, or copy the ROOT policy. The SYSTEM, REMOTE, and NO ACCESS policies can be changed and copied, but not deleted.

For each policy, it shows the Default Access Type (Read/Write, Read Only, No Access) granted to all the forms that the policy controls and whether or not the policy is a Default Policy— that is, created by Mitel (Yes) or by the user (No).

The lower portion of the form shows the access permissions defined for the forms that the selected policy controls. The permissions are as follows:

Modification of Policies

This form may be used when performing the following tasks:

NOTE: When using the Import Spreadsheet to configure System Administration Access users in the User Authorization Profiles form, the Policy Name entered in the spreadsheet must already exist in the Admin Policies form. Also, for backward compatibility with pre- 3300 ICP Release 8.0 systems, the SDS field in the spreadsheet must also be set  to True for the ROOT policy user and False of all other policies, including SYSTEM, NO ACCESS, and REMOTE. Alternatively, the System Administration Access users can be configured using only the SDS field, leaving the Policy Name blank. A policy will be automatically assign upon import as follows: if the SDS field is set to True, then the user is assigned a ROOT policy; otherwise a SYSTEM policy is assigned.
